For more than four decades, Pastor Phil Daniels has devoted his life to building the Church and advancing the Kingdom of God. With 42 years of ministry experience, Pastor Phil spent 40 of those years at Generations United Church in Niceville, Florida, serving first as Youth and Worship Pastor for eight years, then faithfully leading as Senior Pastor for thirty-two years.
During his leadership, Generations United grew from a congregation of just over 150 members to more than 1,100, marked by vibrant worship, authentic community, and a deep commitment to serving the next generation.
Pastor Phil holds a Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University and is a graduate of the National Institute of Christian Leadership and The Rutland Cohort. His formal training, combined with decades of hands-on pastoral experience, has shaped a leadership philosophy rooted in biblical conviction, practical wisdom, and a deep love for the local church.
Today, Pastor Phil carries a special burden for smaller churches and pastors, desiring to strengthen, encourage, and equip them to thrive in their unique callings. His ministry is defined by longevity, humility, and a heart to see every church, regardless of size, be equipped to maximize the mission God has given them.
I’ve been in ministry since the summer of 1985, mostly with youth and children, and for the past 12½ years, my wife and I have served as Lead Pastors at Emerald Coast Church. I turned 60 in November and have now been in ministry for over 40 years. I truly believe the strongest years of a pastor’s ministry can be their 60s, and I plan to finish strong. Over the last 12½ years, we’ve seen God do amazing things. In May 2013, the church averaged 41 in worship; we saw great growth, but then COVID hit. We had a Sunday in the summer of 2020 where we only had 64. We’ve effectively revitalized our church twice because of COVID. We consistently bump up against the 300 mark, but haven’t been able to break through it. I realized I needed help—someone to identify blind spots, coach me, and speak into my leadership. I reached out to Phil and Kim Daniels of Church Ministry Consulting and wholeheartedly recommend them. Their consultation is already producing results. Phil and Kim attended our services as guests and gave excellent feedback on parking, security, coffee, hospitality, greeters and ushers, tech, worship, nursery, preschool, and Kids ministry teams. Phil also did a walkthrough of our Wednesday night ministries, met with staff and board, attended a board meeting and our annual business meeting, and provided very helpful input in those settings. Phil has walked with me as we approved our 2026 church budget. Great insight on church budgeting! Phil and Kim led our staff and board through a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) exercise that was eye-opening and very positive. Phil and Kim bring many years of successful ministry experience to glean from. Every pastor needs a coach, someone you give permission to speak into your life! Again, I highly recommend Church Ministry Consulting! And this is a big deal for our church budgets; they are affordable for every church size! They work with you.
